We worked with Upaz to close the gap between what a field officer actually travels and what a reimbursement claim says they travelled — and to do it without adding friction to the officer's day.
The situation
What walked in.
A financial institution running a distributed field-collection operation — cash pickups from multiple locations — was losing meaningful money on inflated travel reimbursements. Field officers were reporting longer routes and longer durations than they had actually travelled, and the manual expense process could not keep up. The leakage was material, the audit process was painful, and the problem was getting worse.
What we built
The shape of the system.
We worked with Upaz to build a mobile application that captures each officer's route in real time, a GPS-trace cleaning pipeline that removes the artefacts and errors that make raw GPS useless for claims, and an AI route optimisation layer that calculates the actual distance and time between collection points. The output is a claim that matches reality — verifiable, auditable, and fair to both the officer and the firm.
